Research Interests:

Visual psychophysics, particularly using behavioural methodologies to understand the ability of the human visual system to extract form and motion information from the visual scene. This research is experimental in nature, and my current projects focusses on the following topics:

Contour detection by the human visual system
Using natural images to understand how the visual system encodes the visual scene
Understanding the mechanisms underlying the binocular rivalry of complex motion patterns
Form and Motion interaction
Investigating the interactions between illusory and real contours
Perceptual learning of complex stimuli as a remedy for Amblyopia
The computation of global speed by the visual system
