Research Description:

  • Comparison of known and putative risks associated with apical support and apical clearance RGP fitting in keratoconus including a biomechanical analysis of the rheological responses of the cornea to these different fitting approaches.
  • Determination of rate of progress in keratoconus using a retrospective review of patient records in patients followed from initial teenage diagnosis to post-corneal grafting.
  • An examination of the causal role of abnormal rubbing in keratoconus as a basis for determining the need for specific case management procedures.
