The School hosted its inaugural continuing education alumni meeting on the evening of Friday, 22 May 2009.

A cocktail reception, tours of the new Guide Dogs Centre for Eye Health and the Schools' own Clinic were followed by a presentation by Professor Anthony Adams on "Diabetes: early neural and structural changes in the retina".

The School also launched its Newsletter.

The meeting was attended by approximately 100 alumni/OAA members, staff and associates.

Optometrist Association Australia (OAA) member's attending Professor Adams presentation were credited with 2 CPD points from the OAA.
