The School of Optometry and Vision Science, UNSW and The Optometrists Association Australia (NSW Division) co-hosted a dinner on the evening of Saturday, 17 February 2007 in celebration of Professor Dain's University career and his contribution to the Optometry Profession.

The evening was attended by more than 90 guests, representing academia, the profession and industry.

Head of School, A/Professor Fiona Stapleton, unveiled a portait of Professor Dain, which will hang alongside those of the previous Heads of School in the Optometry Clinic.

Professor Dain will retain a part-time position within the School as Professor and Director of the Optics and Radiometry Laboratory.
