By Research Ms Mei-Ying Boon (PhD Student November, 2003) Research for a PhD or an MSc can be carried out over a diverse range of areas and disciplines as reflected by the variety of backgrounds of our current staff and postgraduate students. Areas in which postgraduate students may undertake research include Clinical Optometry, pure and applied research with clinical significance and basic research. Candidates may commence either research degree at any stage during the academic year. Possible topics include: -Corneal anatomy, physiology and pathology -Contact lenses -Visual electrophysiology and psychophysics -Aetiology of refractive error -Binocular vision -Colour vision -Clinical Optometry, including refractive anomalies, clinical instrumentation, clinical techniques, population studies, corneal topography and patient management -Occupational and public health optometry -Eye movements -Assessment of vision in infants See the Postgraduate Programs Handbook for further information.
